This was stated by the Prime Minister of  Armenia Nikol Pashinyan during an official dinner with the head of  the government of Singapore, Li Xian Lun.  "It is a great honor for  me to be in this beautiful country, which with its small territory,  but with colossal possibilities, is admired by so many. Singapore is  an exceptional country in terms of economic achievements, a model of  social progress and social justice, as well as cultural  characteristics, "he said.

The prime minister also announced his intention to give impetus to  the growth of mutual trade and investment between countries, for  which, in his opinion, today there are all the prerequisites. In this  vein, he continued: "Over the past year, the Armenian government has  taken steps that radically changed the economic environment of the  country. In particular, the rule of law has been strengthened, equal  conditions have been created for all economic players, including  foreign investments. Corruption has dramatically decreased, "he said.

In addition, Pashinyan stressed that the signing of a free trade  agreement could be an additional important incentive for the  development of economic cooperation between Armenia and Singapore.  The factor of Singapore's economic miracle is truly unprecedented.  Your exceptional experience in this regard is of great interest to  us, and we would be grateful for your advice, "he said.

In turn, the Prime Minister of Singapore noted that diplomatic  relations between the countries were established in 1992, but  historical ties originated much earlier. said Li Xian Lun. In particular, in this vein, he noted  that Singapore's main newspaper, The Times, was founded in 1845 by  Khachikom Movses. Many of the buildings here are named after the  Sarkis brothers, who founded the famous hotel Raffles. Even the  national flower, he said, was created by Armenian gardener Agnes  Joachim, and the Joachim orchid sculpture, which was opened by the  Prime Minister yesterday on the Armenian street of Singapore, is a  symbol of the cross ties between the Armenian and Singaporean  peoples. "We are proud of those Armenians who continue to contribute  to the development of our country", the Prime Minister of Singapore  emphasized.

Speaking about economic relations, he noted that at this stage  negotiations are being held with the EAEU to sign an agreement on  free trade. In this regard, he noted that Singapore is striving to  stimulate economic and business ties with Armenia. "We highly  appreciate the assistance of Armenia in the matter of signing the  agreement, and we hope that this will be possible soon," he said,  noting that ties are also being strengthened in other areas,  including tourism, culture and education. "We will use various  platforms to deepen our relations," he stressed.
