ArmInfo. In Armenia, many irrigation water consumers refuse to sign contracts with supplier companies. This was stated by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan on July 18 during a meeting of the RA government.
According to him, villagers refuse to pay for water in the hope of getting it for free. In response, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that in this situation in 2-3 years there would be no irrigation water in the republic at all. He recalled the abuse in the field of irrigation in the amount of about 20 billion drams.
In turn, Acting Head of the State Control Service of the Republic of Armenia Argishti Qyaramyan reported on offenses in Ararat Valley in the amount of 3.6 billion drams. Criminal charges have been filed for abuses.
