ArmInfo. The growth of the Armenian economy in 2019 will be quite substantial. On June 9, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan stated this in a conversation with reporters, commenting on the statement made by the Prime Minister of Armenia in Stepanakert on ensuring YOY GDP growth of 9.5% up to 2050.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, ensuring double-digit economic growth can be expected in 2-3 years, but ensuring such rates of economic growth is quite realistic. At the same time, Tigran Avinyan stated that the main task of the government is to increase the welfare of citizens and the quality of services. The Vice Prime Minister assured that this year's GDP indicator will be quite solid, both in the region and in the world. To the question of what steps the government is taking to ensure YOY 9.5% economic growth until 2050, Avinyan noted that this will happen when carrying out in-depth reforms, changing inertial approaches, especially in the context of introducing a model of inclusive economic growth, implementing educational and health programs, and developing human capital. "When certain changes in education, healthcare, science, high technology occur as a result of the implementation of new demographic programs, I'm sure that all this will have the most serious effects," the Deputy Prime Minister concluded.
To recall, at the meeting in Stepanakert on August 5, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan outlined the main directions of development of Armenia until 2050 - to ensure population growth of up to 5 million people, create 1.5 million new jobs, increase GDP by 15 fold, for which it will be necessary to ensure YOY 9.5% economic growth.
