ArmInfo. As of today, the Armenian government has already exceeded the annual plan for average and major road repairs. Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan announced this on September 12 at a government meeting. So, during the meeting, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Suren Papikyan presented a draft decision, according to which it was proposed to allocate 4.5 billion drams for road (with a total length of 39.2 km) and design work (for 48.6 km of roads).
According to Papikyan,as of today, of the 330 km of road construction work envisaged by the annual plan, 70 km of secondary and major repairs have been completed, 307.2 km of work is ongoing. "In addition, work is underway within the framework of subvention programs, the North-South investment program," he said.
To the question of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, does this mean that Armenia is ready to exceed the annual plan, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan said this year the republic will break a record in this direction. As the Deputy Prime Minister pointed out, a number of programs scheduled for 2020 have already been postponed to 2019. "By 2023, we plan to carry out medium and overhaul of interstate and republican roads with a length of at least 2500 km, not counting the construction of the North-South transport corridor as part of the investment program," Avinyan said.
"If this year we will be able to complete construction work on roads, for example, 350 km long, then in 2020 we should strive for a 500 km bar," said Nikol Pshinyan, noting that in this way we send a signal to the business, even abroad, urging them to participate more actively in tenders announced in the RA.
