ArmInfo.The Central Bank of Armenia marked the 5th anniversary of the creation of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) with the issue of commemorative coin from 925 sterling silver.
As noted in the message of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia, this jubilee year of 2019 marks the 5th anniversary of signing the EAEU Treaty and the 25th anniversary of envisioning the idea of Eurasian integration. In 2019, the regular meeting of the Eurasian Supreme Economic Council is hosted by the Republic of Armenia.
According to the source, the Face value of the coin is 1000 drams, , weight - 33.6 g., Diameter - 38.61 mm., Quality - proof, Edge - ribbed, Quantity - 500. The obverse of the coin the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia and the images of sails and stars corresponding to quantity of the EAEU member-states. The reverse of the coin features the EAEU logotype and stylized images of the EAEU member-states' flags.

It should be noted that the agreement on the creation of the EAEU was signed on May 29, 2014 in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, and entered into force on January 1, 2015. The supreme body of the EAEU is the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (EEC), which includes the heads of the EAEU. The Council meets at least once a year. The standing body is the Eurasian Economic Commission (ECE). To resolve contentious issues, there is a court of the Union. The EAEU Chairmanship moves every year to the next country in alphabetical order. The EAEU budget is formed from the contributions of member states in Russian rubles. The EAEU Member States are Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan. Moreover, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan joined the EAEU in 2015. Since 2018, Moldova has observer status. China, Iran, Vietnam and Cuba have signed free trade zone agreements with the EAEU. In total, about 50 countries announced their desire in one way or another to cooperate with the EAEU.
