ArmInfo. In the Ararat Valley of Armenia, 97 water wells will be mothballed, another 8 wells will be completely closed. The decision was made at a government meeting on September 19.

As a result of the program, about 30 million cubic meters will be saved. m of water that flowed into neighboring countries. In addition, Grigoryan continued, the Ministry of the Environment is taking all necessary measures to return funds from businesses that illegally used these volumes of water. The minister noted that the studies were carried out from August 5 to 16. The main goal of the measures taken is to increase the efficiency of the water supply system and improve the environmental situation in the country. For these purposes, the Minister continued, the issue of a complete ban on the use of artesian wells in the Ararat Valley at a time when there is no need for irrigation is being discussed.
Recall that on August 29, the government adopted another decision aimed at streamlining the water supply system for fish farms in the Ararat Valley. Currently, 116 fish farms have launched their activities in the valley. In order to provide them with the necessary volumes of water, it is planned to use a closed water supply cycle, which will allow forming a single chain in the production of fish and fish products. For these purposes, it is planned to set certain limits for companies engaged in this field. So, when using on average 1 liter of water per second on an annualized basis, the volume of production of ishkhan trout should not be less than 700 kg, and for sturgeons - not less than 800 kg. The purpose of innovation is the active use of circulating volumes of water. To solve this problem, modern technological equipment has already appeared on the market, which new water user companies can lease. When carrying out leasing operations, the state will finance 8% of 12%. Thus, the beneficiaries of the program will pay only 4% of the amount of leasing. At the same time, the maximum leasing amount will be 6 million drams. In addition, the state budget will finance a prepayment of 20% in the amount of 10%. Moreover, the innovation will apply exclusively to new beneficiaries. As for the old ones, they will be able to use the new program from 2023, when the validity of the permits issued to them for water use expires. 460 million drams will be allocated from the state budget to solve the task.
