Calling Congress one of the most important events held in Armenia, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that such forums should be held in the country on a regular basis.
He noted that the IT opportunities are practically unlimited, both in Armenia and in any other country. "Each country should develop its policy on the basis that future generations are ready to contribute more to the development of the digitalization process and are able to create new products," he emphasized.
Speaking about the IT development directions in Armenia, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of technological education since school years. In this regard, he recalled that by the end of the year "Armat" engineering laboratories will operate in 50% of Armenian schools. In addition, referring to the last meeting of the government, the deputy prime minister noted that it was decided to allocate additional funds for the development of high technology, in particular R&D (Researche & Development), for which 954 million drams were allocated. , he concluded.
To recall, WCIT 2019 launched in Yerevan on October 6 and will last until October 9. The congress is held by Armenia with the assistance and under the high patronage of the RA government. The World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) was established by the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA). About 2.5 thousand participants from 70 countries attend the Congress. 6 thousand people submitted applications for participation.
