ArmInfo. On October 8, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan met Yandex founder and CEO Arkady Volozh.
According to the Prime Minister's press service, Nikol Pashinyan, welcoming the company's participation in the 23rd Congress of Information Technologies, noted that the Armenian PM said this year in June he had a productive discussion with the Yandex executives on possible joint programs.
According to Pashinyan, today's meeting with Arkady Volozh proves the bilateral readiness to further expand the existing partnership. "We are interested in the successful activity of Yandex in Armenia and its new investments, in particular in the field of artificial intelligence," the prime minister said.
The Director General of Yandex, in turn, said that the company's management effectively assesses the investments made in Armenia, in particular, in taxi service field. According to him, the company is interested in implementing new programs in Armenia. In particular, he spoke about the experience of Yandex in a number of countries in introducing unmanned vehicle technology, calling this experience successful.
To recall, on October 6 WCIT 2019 launched in Yerevan and will last until October 9. The congress is held by Armenia with the assistance and under the high patronage of the RA government. The World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) was established by the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA). About 2.5 thousand participants from 70 countries attend the Congress.
