ArmInfo. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) is in no hurry to open financing for the implementation of the investment program of Armsanprod company, the operator of which is the large Armenian "Spayka" company
To recall, the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia on April 5 accused the director of Spayka LLC David Ghazaryan of evading taxes and customs duties by 7 billion drams. Ghazaryan himself denied these allegations, saying that of this amount, 5.5 billion drams are VAT payments, which, according to the law, were to be returned to the company. On April 8, a court of general jurisdiction in Yerevan decided to arrest Ghazaryan. Later, the preventive measure against Ghazaryan was changed, he was released on bail. Earlier, the company officially stated that in the period from May 2, 2018 to April 4, 2019, "Spayka" invested $ 90 million in Armenian agriculture.
However, in the circumstances, the company will not be able to use working capital. As the director of the EDB for the Republic of Armenia Armen Melkikyan said at a press conference in Yerevan on October 9, the Bank does not dismiss the company's investment program, but intends to wait for the completion of this whole story. At the same time, the director called not to compare the "Armsanprod" and "Spayka" companies, noting that in this case we are talking only about the first one. As for "Spayka" ", it acts only as an operator. The Armenian "Spayka" company founded in 2001, has been exporting and selling fruits and vegetables to Russia, the CIS countries and Europe since 2007. It also produces packaging in Including boxes and pallets. The company also develops intensive gardens and greenhouses. The company allocated 163 hectares in the south of Yerevan for greenhouses and a mold cheese plant. Within the framework of this investment program, it was planned to receive $ 67 million from EDB and $ 22 million from the another bank, the name is not mentioned. The company is associated with the family of the second President of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, who is also under investigation. There are no official data on who the ultimate beneficiary of "Spayka" is.
