ArmInfo. Julio Netto, Brazil's Deputy Minister of Technology, Innovation and Telecommunications, intends to assist in the early ratification of a technical cooperation agreement with Armenia. He stated this during a meeting with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia Armen Grigoryan.
According to the press service of the Secretary of the Security Council, the deputy minister presented Grigoryan with the Brazilian program for the peaceful use of outer space and the possibility of cooperation.
In his turn, the Secretary emphasized the importance of cooperation between Armenia and Brazil in the fields of innovative technologies, especially the peaceful use of outer space. Grigoryan introduced the guest to the current situation in the field of the space industry of Armenia, the steps being taken, as well as the draft law "On Space Activities" and the ongoing discussions on the creation of the space agency of Armenia.
The parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation in a number of areas, in particular high technology, space, education, as well as the effective organization of the work of geostationary earth orbit satellites.
An agreement was reached on the participation of a representative of the Security Council office in the created working groups.
To recall the agreement on technical cooperation between Armenia and Brazil was signed in December 2016. The purpose of the agreement is to provide technical incentives for priority areas identified by the parties. In general, the agreement provides for framework decisions, as well as tax exemption for certain material and technical goods received as part of technical assistance or technical cooperation between governments.
