ArmInfo. On October 11, Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia Varos Simonyan received the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chile for International Economic Relations, Rodrigo Yanez.
According to the press service of the Economic University of Armenia, Varos Simonyan noted that this meeting is an excellent occasion to rethink the circle of bilateral economic cooperation.
The deputy minister presented information on the Free Trade Agreements with the Eurasian Economic Union and third countries, both on the signed agreements and on the contract documents. At the request of the guests, he also presented the framework for cooperation with the European Union, the essence and economic relations of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement with the EU.
Rodrigo Yanez, in turn, noted that the Chilean delegation included both government officials and representatives of the private sector. According to him, the cooperation between Armenia and Chile can be noteworthy in the context that both countries are a kind of access to other large foreign markets. He expressed interest in monitoring the export of Armenian goods to the Republic of Chile. Rodrigo Yanez noted that the Chilean side is interested in revealing the possibilities of cooperation with the EAEU countries.
The parties discussed the technical details of the upcoming visit of the Chilean delegation to Armenia, the formation of a cooperation framework and outlined relevant economic areas for discussion, in particular, export of goods, winemaking, agriculture and other areas.
At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile for International Economic Relations Rodrigo Yanez, noted that high-level cooperation with Armenia in the economic sector is a necessity and expressed gratitude for the readiness of the Armenian side for effective cooperation.
