ArmInfo. On October 19, the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan visited Gyumri, where he got acquainted with the progress of construction work on a vehicle customs house. During the detour, the head of government was accompanied by David Ananyan, Chairman of the RA State Revenue Committee (SRC).
It should be noted that earlier in April the RA Prime Minister instructed the head of the SRC to take measures to transfer auto customs from Yerevan to Gyumri. It was originally planned that the new point will begin its activities on October 11, but for objective reasons, these dates had to be postponed. The deputy head of the State Customs Committee Shushanik Nersisyan, in an interview with reporters, noted that a car customs office would open soon, considering the scale of construction work. She also emphasized that since October 21, only those cars that were transported in trailers or in trucks have been cleared in Yerevan, the rest will be in Gyumri.
Nersisyan noted that before the transfer of the customs house from Yerevan to Gyumri, 35-40 cars were cleared daily, whereas yesterday the number of vehicles reached 180. In this regard, she noted that upon completion of construction work the number of cars will reach 350-400 on a daily basis. At the same time, the deputy head of the SRC noted that, taking into account the expected volumes, the car customs will work in a seven-day mode, and the number of employees from 30-35 will reach 50-55.
To note, the construction of a new customs clearance point in the north of Armenia will be fully completed in late October - early November. This was stated earlier by the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of the RA David Ananyan. According to him, it was originally planned that the new point will begin its activities on October 11, but for objective reasons, these dates had to be postponed. In particular, if according to the plan it was planned to build a new customs clearance on an area of 800 square meters, now we are talking about 4.5 thousand square meters, which, according to David Ananyan, has become a challenge for builders. Nevertheless, the head of the SRC assured that in early November buildings and structures on an area of 6 hectares will be ready. The new facility will become part of the project to create centers of foreign economic activity with a total area of 21 hectares, the construction of which will be fully completed within 1-3 years.
