ArmInfo. At the invitation of Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, representatives of the Canadian SkyPower Global company will be in Armenia from October 28 to 30, who will consider the possibility of entering the Armenian energy market.
According to the press service of the President of Armenia, during the visit, the company delegation is scheduled to meet with President Armen Sarkissian, representatives of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, as well as representatives of companies involved in electricity and solar energy.
SkyPower is a large Canadian international company specializing in the implementation of large projects in the field of solar energy and infrastructures. The company has representative offices in 34 across the globe.
Last year, the company announced an investment of $ 1.3 billion in the construction of photovoltaic solar energy production facilities in Uzbekistan with a total capacity of 1,000 MW of alternating current. It is expected that the projects will be implemented in Tashkent, Samarkand, Navoi, Jizzakh, Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions.
The first meeting between President Sarkissian and the head of the company took place in January of the current year in the UAE as part of the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Development Week conference. It was there that an agreement was reached on visiting Armenia and continuing discussions on possible cooperation.
