ArmInfo.From November 5 to 10, the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia (VWFA), within the framework of the China International Import Expo (CIIE) at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Conference Center, presents more than 160 types of wine and 34 types of brandy in a single pavilion 13 Armenian wine companies.
This year, the CIIE exhibition is held for the second time and provides an opportunity for participating countries and entrepreneurs to present their products, increase brand awareness and create business ties in the second largest economy in the world.
VWFA Executive Director Zaruhi Muradyan noted that Armenia is exporting wines to 32 countries. "I'm sure that this exhibition will open prospects for expanding the export of Armenian wine and brandy through the establishment of new business ties," she emphasized.
According to the source, the CIIE exhibition last year registered 2,462 buyers, 1,178 exhibitors from 82 countries, 657 preliminary agreements were signed. This year, 3.893 enterprises from 170 countries took part in the exhibition, and the preliminary number of registered visitors reaches 650 thousand people.
It should be noted that, according to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in the first half of 2019, 5.7 million liters wine were produced in Armenia, which is more than the indicator of y-o-y prescription by 42.8% and 17.7 million liters brandy, with a y-o-y growth of 44%. According to the RA Customs Service, during the reporting period, Armenia exported 1.3 million liters wine, with y-o-y growth of 16.5%, with a decrease in customs value by 1.5%. China's share of total export of Armenian wine is 5%.
