ArmInfo. In the 9 months of 2019, the metallurgical industry of Armenia increased production by 12.7% per annum, against an 18.6% decline for the same period of 2018. According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in January-September 2019, the production of ferromolybdenum in Armenia increased by 12.9% compared to the same period of the previous year, amounting to 5,628.4 tons. In September alone, 668.4 tons of ferromolybdenum were produced, which is 33.9% more than the August volume.
In January-September of this year the production of molybdenum concentrate increased by 31.8% to 10 995.9 tons, and only in September there was a decline of 11.9% to 1,329 tons. The production of copper concentrate increased in January-September by 13.8% - up to 280.9 thousand tons, and only in September the volume of production amounted to 38.9 thousand tons, with a monthly decline of 15.1%. The production of zinc concentrate, in contrast, decreased in January-September by 5.1% per annum - to 8,311 tons, of which 840 tons accounted for September (monthly decline by 25.7%).
In January-September, the production of aluminum foil increased by 3.3% per annum - up to 23,237 tons, and only in September the production of aluminum foil increased by 4.1% to 2,602 tons. Production of steel pipes increased in January-September by 4.8% per annum - up to 8,364 tons, and only in September decreased by 69.3% to 623 tons.
All metals produced in Armenia are exported, mainly to Europe and the USA. To recall, the metallurgical industry of Armenia in 2018 reduced the volume of production by 23% per annum, against the 11.3% growth in 2017. In particular, ferromolybdenum production increased by 10.4%, molybdenum concentrate - by 1.4%, copper concentrate - by 25.9%, zinc concentrate - by 12.3%. At the same time, the production of aluminum foil decreased by 14.5%, aluminum rolled products - by 69.8%, steel pipes - by 3.5%, blister copper - by 26.7%.
