Nikol Pashinyan familiarized with the process of implementing  subvention and other programs in the Syunik region

ArmInfo. Prime Minister Nikol  Pashinyan paid a working visit to the Syunik region of the republic,  where he got acquainted with the process of implementing subvention  and other programs.

According to the press service of the Prime Minister of Armenia, the  head of Government first visited Goris. Currently, a number of  projects are underway in the region for the construction of roads,  improving infrastructure and developing tourism. In particular, the  Prime Minister was presented with repair work on a 670-meter road on  Mashtots Street, as well as a 700-meter road leading to the village  of Verishen. AMD 250 million was invested in road repairs on Mashtots  street, and AMD 153 million was invested in the road leading to the  village of Verishen (the latter has not been repaired for about 40  years). In addition to road repairs, sidewalks are also being  reconstructed.

Then the Prime Minister visited the village of Verishen, which is  part of the enlarged community of Goris, to familiarize himself with  the overhaul of the church around St. Hripsime, built in the 4th  century.  Pavilions will be built here that will present tourists  with the attractiveness and flavor of the region. The project is  estimated at 100 million drams.

The head of the government was also presented with the repair of a  sports school in the village of Verishen, for which 68 million drams  will be spent.  Nikol Pashinyan also got acquainted with the work  within the framework of the program to restore Old Goris, under which  the caves are being repaired, and an alley corresponding to the color  of Goris is created for tourists. Major repairs of the city theater  are also being carried out; 500 million drams have been invested for  this purpose.  The Prime Minister was also presented with the  construction of the city stadium in Goris. The program provides that  the stadium will have 4000 seats, and the surrounding areas will be  landscaped.  The governor of the Syunik region, Unan Poghosyan,  reported that in 2019, compared to 2017, the size of subvention  programs increased from 450 million drams to 3 billion 900 million  drams. Goris Mayor Arush Arushanyan noted that only the community  headed by him implements subvention programs worth 1.5 billion drams,  the construction sector is growing rapidly in the city, and  investment programs are being implemented in the tourism sector.  According to the mayor, there is a problem of attracting labor. The  average salary of a worker in Goris is 180 thousand drams.  Suren  Papikyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and  Infrastructures, said that this year, the regional community's own  revenues increased by 2.5 billion drams, which also stimulated the  expansion of programs co-financed by the government and communities.   Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of the  quality implementation of all subvention programs and ensuring proper  control in this direction. The head of government emphasized that  subvention programs are good examples of cooperation between local  governments and the government. In 2020, the government plans to  allocate 10 billion drams for subvention programs, which means that  the pace of construction in the republic will increase. "Construction  sites across the country should be expanded," said Nikol Pashinyan.  According to the head of government, one of the best incentives for  uniform territorial development is subvention programs.
