ArmInfo. Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia David Ananyan paid a working visit to the city of Gyumri, where he inspected the customs checkpoint for vehicles, which, he said, will work from November 18 this year.
It is envisaged that in the future, after full commissioning, the new customs terminal will be able to serve up to 1 thousand vehicles a day, the PRG Department of Public Relations and Information reports. It should be recalled that it is planned to build the Northern Center for Foreign Economic Service SRC in Gyumri. Most of the center's processes and procedures will be based on modern electronic control systems and digital solutions to simplify customs operations, increase efficiency and provide better services.
Earlier ArmInfo reported that the total cost of the program is 2.2 billion drams. The intention to transfer the customs clearance point for imported cars from the customs department from the Noragavit neighborhood (within the Shengavit District of Yerevan, Ed. note) the second most important city of Armenia, Gyumri, was connected with an unprecedented increase in the import of vehicles from countries that are not members of the EAEU as part of the customs exemption until the end of this year. Construction is underway on the territory of 21.5 hectares owned by the Ministry of Defense.
