ArmInfo. For the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Armenia is a country with unused opportunities. This was announced on November 29 in Moscow in an interview with reporters by the head of the EDB Andrey Belyaninov.
"We are working on several fairly voluminous projects. As regards Armenia itself, we funded the Electric Networks, are considering a large application for the construction of the Eurasian Business Center, and took part in the placement of bonds at the Zangezur Molybdenum Plant," the EDB head said.
At the same time, he clarified that in terms of implementing the project for the construction of a business center, documents were collected for a very long time and finally they were collected and the Bank believes that it is worthy of implementation.
At the same time, he stated that the EDB also finances several Armenian banks, which in turn lend to small and medium-sized businesses. "Since the Armenian banking system is very well structured, this is probably a serious area for cooperation. Credit lines, for example, to Ameriabank and Ardshinbank, 30 and 10 million, respectively, Araratbank - 6 million, Converse Bank - 6 million and several other banks. I would like to emphasize that the interaction with these banks has a positive history, and the money is being returned. We have clearly structured relationship, " Belyaninov said. He also recalled that in total about 100 projects are being implemented by the EDB in all 6 countries, and the EDB loan portfolio is $ 4 billion, but it is planned to bring it to $ 7 billion by the end of the year.
As a vivid example of the bank's permanent development, Belyaninov indicated an increase in positions in the Fitch credit rating. He expressed his conviction that over the past two years, the EDB has done quite a bit, achieved serious results, and the Bank is respected in the international arena.
