ArmInfo. For the road construction of Armenia, 2019 was a year of achievement. This is stated in the published video on the Facebook page of the Armenian  government.  

According to the Minister of Territorial Development and  Infrastructures Suren Papikyan, the department headed by him carries  out a very important mission to ensure the development of the RA  infrastructures.  "Road construction is important along this path -  infrastructure that allows developing all sectors of the Armenian  economy," he said.

The total length of such roads, as the minister pointed out, built in  the republic for 2019 is 350 km. In addition, construction is being  carried out as part of subvention programs - with a total length of  about 80 km. "This is only the beginning - in 2020 we plan to build  roads with a length of about 500 km," Suren Papikyan noted.

Recall that on April 17 at a press conference, Minister of Transport,  Communications and IT of Armenia Hakob Arshakyan said that in 2019  Armenia will send about 20 billion drams (about $ 41 million) to  repair 312 km of interstate and republican roads, not counting  construction within the framework of the North- South investment  program and the M6 Vanadzor - to the Georgian border road M6.

In 2020, 124.4 billion drams will be allocated from the state budget  for the construction, repair and major reconstruction of roads in  Armenia. According to the Facebook page of the RA government, next  year the same amount of funds will be allocated for these purposes as  for 2015, 2016 and 2017. or for 2018 and 2019. taken together. In  particular, according to the source, 52.4 billion will be allocated  for the implementation of the North-South transport corridor program  (the figure is equal to the appropriations for 2016-2019 combined),  9.2 billion drams will be allocated for the restoration of Gyumri  city roads, or 3 times more than in 2019. As Deputy Prime Minister  Tigran Avinyan previously reported, by 2023 the Cabinet plans to  carry out medium and major repairs of interstate and republican roads  with a length of at least 2500 km, not counting the construction of  the North-South transport corridor as part of the investment program.
