Statistical Committee of Armenia presented data on alcohol production

ArmInfo.  In January-August  2020, according to the data of the Statistical Committee of the  Republic of Armenia, 21.6 million liters were produced in Armenia.  cognac, which is 12% less than a year ago (against 44.5% growth a  year earlier).

ArmInfo. Industrial sector of Armenia in the first quarter of 2019 slowed annual growth to 2% from 8.2% a year earlier, providing a volume of 423.8 billion drams ($  869.8 million). In March alone, the industry demonstrated growth in  volume by 16.1% to 160.9 billion drams ($ 330 million). According to  the Statistics Committee of the Republic of Armenia, the dynamics of  the industrial sector are due to the decline in the volume of the  mining sector and the slowdown in the growth rate of the  manufacturing industry.

In  comparison with last year's pace, growth was accelerated in the  service sector, growth slowed down in trade, construction, and the  industrial sector, while the agricultural sector and the energy  complex shifted from growth to recession.

According to the  RA Statistics Committee, this was triggered by a rise in prices for  food products (including alcohol and cigarettes) by 5.1% (versus 3% a  year earlier), non-food products - by 0.4% (versus 2.2% a year  earlier) and tariffs for services - by 0.3% (against 1% a year  earlier).

According to preliminary data of the RA  Statistical Committee, the growth sector was made up by the service  sector - 17.3%, the construction sector - 10.8% and the trade sector  - 10.1%, against which growth of the industrial sector looked too  modest - 2%, and the agricultural sector and energy complex showed a  decline of 0.2% and 14%, respectively. In comparison with last year's  pace, growth was accelerated in the service sector, growth slowed  down in trade, construction, and the industrial sector, while the  agricultural sector and the energy complex shifted from growth to  recession.A year earlier, in January-March 2018, by January-March  2017, economic activity increased by 10.6%, amid growing exports by  34.4% and imports by 39%.

According to the Statistics  Committee of the Republic of Armenia, the budget revenues of Armenia  improved the annual dynamics with a recovery from the 11.1% decline  by 32.5% growth, which was also observed in terms of expenditures,  but to a much smaller extent  from 8.4% decline to a 3.4% rise.

And in the  calculation according to the old method, a decrease in the  unemployment rate for 2018 to 16.3% of the average y-o-y was recorded  from 17.8% in 2017. According to the RA Statistical Committee, the  new calculation method does not take into account those employed in  the household.

In the Q1 of this year inflation was mainly  provoked by a 5.8% rise in the price of food products and, to a  lesser extent, a rise in tariffs for services by 0.1%, in parallel  with the decrease in non-food prices by 0.4%. According to the RA  Statistics Committee, the average monthly price increase in the Q1 of  this year amounted to 0.9%, against 0.8% a year earlier.
