Statistical Committee of Armenia presented data on alcohol production

ArmInfo.  In January-August  2020, according to the data of the Statistical Committee of the  Republic of Armenia, 21.6 million liters were produced in Armenia.  cognac, which is 12% less than a year ago (against 44.5% growth a  year earlier).

In the first half of 2019, the Armenian trade sector slowed down the y-o-y growth rate from 9.1% to 8.9%, providing a volume of 1.4 trillion drams ($ 2.9  billion), of which 264.9 billion drams ($ 553.7 million) accounted  for June with a monthly increase of 6.4%. According to the  Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, such dynamics is  associated with a slowdown in the growth of wholesale trade and a  change in the positive trend to a negative one in car trade.

The metallurgical industry of Armenia in the first half of 2019 showed a decline of 3.7%, against the 15.3% decline for the same period of 2018.  According to the RA Statcommittee, in the first half of the year,  ferromolybdenum production in Armenia increased by 5.4% per annum,  amounting to 3,722 tons, against the growth of 2.4% a year earlier.  In June alone, 674 tons of ferromolybdenum were produced, which was  1.7% more than the May volume.

According to the RA Statistical Committee, the acceleration  of industrial sector growth is due to a change in the trend of the  mining sector from downward to upward and the continued growth of the  manufacturing sector. Moreover, in June this year industrial volumes  increased by 6.3% (against an increase of 5.8% in June 2018) to 167.4  billion drams ($ 350 million).

As a comparison, we note that a year earlier, in  January-May 2018, by the same period of 2017, economic activity  increased by 8.6%, in May compared to May 2017 - by 5.4%, and in May  alone - by 10.4%.
