Armenian banks lent 13.3 billion drams and 26 million US dollars over last week


ArmInfo. Armenian banks lent 13.3 billion drams and 26 million US dollars over the last week (Dec 7-13), Armenian Central Bank told ArmInfo. The source reported that over the current week (Dec 14-18) in the inter-bank currency market (transactions with clients) banks purchased $60.217 million at the average exchange rate of 379.87AMD/1USD and sold $57.926 million at the average exchange rate of 381.73/1USD. Foreign exchange purchase and sale in the inter-bank market for Dec 14-18 totaled $4.2 million at the average exchange rate of 382.5 AMD/1 USD. For the period under review (Dec 14-18) foreign exchange operations at NASDAQ OMX Armenia totaled $13.490 million at the average exchange rate of 375.24 AMD/1USD/

By data of ArmInfo, as of October 1 2009 the aggregate credit portfolio of commercial banks of Armenia totaled $1.9 billion growing 10% over the quarter versus 14% for Q3 2008.
