Unibank to increase number of plastic cards threefold in 2010

Unibank is going to increase the
number of plastic cards threefold till late 2010. Aááording to
Unibank Card Business Development Director Mesrop Hakobyan, plastic
business development is one of the strategic directions of the bank's
activity in 2010.


As Unibank's press-service reports, the bank issued about 37,000
cards by early February, 2010, 73% of which are international VISA
cards. The number of the Unibank's POS-terminals, installed in the
trade-service enterprises, makes up 674 pieces, and ATM - 65 pieces.


Meanwhile, Unibank issued a new credit card ArCa U-Buy with a credit
limit to 1 mln drams. The maximum credit term makes up 24 months, the
interest rate - 22% per annum, which are calculated just for a
negative account balance. "U-Buy card may be drawn by all the
individual persons, having a confirmed monthly income and having no
negative credit history. For the clients' comfort, the list of the
documents, required for card receipt, has been reduced to the
minimum: passport, social card, employers' statement about the
salary and position held", Hakobyan said.
