HSBC Bank Armenia issued nearly 50,000 plastic cards as of April 1 2010


ArmInfo. HSBC Bank Armenia issued nearly 50,000 plastic cards as of April 1 2010, HSBC Bank Armenia CEO Astrid Clifford told ArmInfo 33216 of total plastic cards issued as of April 1 2010 were ATM cards and 14856 payment cards.

She said that the number of the bank's plastic cards fell 19% per year (April 1 2010 versus April 1 2009). Ms. Clifford explained it with blocking of co-branding credit cards (nearly 20000 cards) and their replacement with plastic cards of MasterCard and ArCa systems that offer discounts at over 100 trade and service points.

The bank installed 6 new ATMs and 11 POS-terminals. As of April 1 2010 HSBC Bank Armenia served 50 ATMs and 241 POS-terminals.
