Ameriabank intends to become a leader in energy crediting
ArmInfo. Ameriabank intends to become the leader in energy crediting market, Development Manager of Ameriabank Tigran Jrbashyan said during a press-conference today. He said that under international programs on hydropower plants crediting, the bank has almost completely implemented two projects with IFC, FMO and DEG, having placed almost 18 mln USD in the energy sphere and provided around 11 loans.
"Having merged with Cascade Bank, Ameriabank will become an energy bank as in the sphere of renewable energy our credit portfolio will have no analogues by its size",- he stressed and added that Cascade Bank was a big creditor in the sphere of energy. According to him, the bank is going to offer new energy projects to the market.
To remind, in Jan 2010 Ameriabank completed its negotiations with FMO (Nederlandse. Financierings-Maatschappij voor. Ontwikkelingslanden N.V.) and DEG (Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH) for borrowing $30mln, of which $10mln for crediting small-sized water power plants. In Dec 2009 Ameriabank agreed with IFC to implement a renewable energy financing project worth $15mln.
