VTB Leasing (Armenia) to be merged with VTB Bank (Armenia)


ArmInfo. VTB Leasing (Armenia) will be merged with VTB Bank (Armenia), Director- General, Chairman of Directorate of VTB Bank (Armenia) Valery Ovsyannikov said at today's press conference when replying to ArmInfo correspondent's question.

According to him, the given decision has been taken to optimize expenditures, all the more so as the bank possesses all possible tools and licenses to carry out leasing operations. "Our leasing company had to consider only large transactions, which had been applied for initially, however, due to the financial and economic crisis, many borrowers are not ready for leasing operations",- said Ovsyannikov. He added that because of the specified reasons, the leasing company failed to form a credit portfolio. He pointed out that like earlier, no leasing operations in the retail segment are nvisaged at VTB Bank (Armenia) either. Instead, the bank leadership is going to implement large leasing transactions.

To recall, VTB Leasing (Armenia) was registered by the Central Bank of Armenia in March 2008. The company is the Armenian subsidiary of VTB Leasing (Russia).

To note, the leasing companies ACBA Leasing, AGRO Leasing and UNILeasing are currently operating in Armenia.
