ARARATBANK launches Petrol Plus loyalty & fleet card system for petrol stations in Armenia
ArmInfo. ARARATBANK has announced introduction of Petrol Plus loyalty & fleet card system for petrol stations in Armenia with use of contactless microprocessor-based smart cards Visa International.
The official website of the system says that the unique opportunities of Petrol Plus has made it popular among 80% of leading oil companies in Russia and CIS. Over 1200 installations and over 8 million cards are in circulations in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Kyrghyzstan, a number of countries in Africa and Latin America. NCT Company has developed the system for the enterprises engaged in retail trade of motor fuel via their own network or partnership network of gas and fuel stations. The first payment on Petrol Plus system was in 1995. Developer of Petrol Plus software says the system allows forming a personal approach to individuals and corporate clients. It considers all aspects of non-cash payments and due to its wide spread enables to easily organize mutual acceptance of cards.
ARARATBANK's initiative will allow numerous individuals and legal entities to refuse from using inconvenient fuel coupons and switch over swipe cards, which allow not only to optimize expenses but also use different bonus programmes. The system will work on the basis of Visa international payment system cards to be issued by the bank by winter 2010. Dual format of the cards allows using them without limitation as usual bank cards.
Such a technology of dual cards on the basis of Mifare technology has already been implemented by ARARATBANK for permanent users of services of the Yerevan metro. The bank currently issues ArCa local system and MasterCard international system cards. To note, the biggest oil trader of Armenia, Flash Company, is the main owner of ARARATBANK OJSC.
