Central Bank of Armenia registers Ameriabank's new statute
ArmInfo. The Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) has registered Ameriabank's new statute and suspended the activity of Cascade Bank, which has been merged with Ameriabank. The press service of the CBA told ArmInfo that the given decision was taken at June 28 sitting of the CBA Board. The sitting was presided over by CBA Chairman Artur Javadyan.
According to the source, the CBA has annulled CJSC Cascade Bank's license on the basis of the resolution "On banks and banking activity".
To note, on June 16 2010 the CBA approved and registered a transaction on merger of Ameriabank and Cascade Bank. As a result of the merger, Ameriabank will continue functioning as the assignee of Cascade Bank, which will provide clients with a wider spectrum of high quality and reliable services. To recall, the shareholders of Ameriabank and Cascade Bank signed an agreement on merger in late March 2010.
Chairman of Directorate, Director General of Ameriabank Artak Hanesyan has earlier said that as a result of the merger, the capital of Ameriabank will amount to about $75 thsd, assets - $400 mln, liabilities - $262 mln, provision of crediting - about $180 mln. According to these indices, the merged bank will join the top three banks in the country.
