Converse Bank offers its customers to control regularly their card accounts via SMS Notification Service
ArmInfo. Converse Bank cardholders have got an opportunity to get information on the balance of their card accounts via SMS Notification Service, Converse Bank press-service told ArmInfo. Earlier the holders of plastic cards could control their card accounts only via ATMs, phone calls to the bank or Armenian Card national payment system.
SMS Notification of the card account after transactions significantly reduces the risk of possible falsifications. Thus, thanks to the pilot SMS Notification Service, over 20 cases of falsifications were prevented during the first five months of 2010. The source recalls that the bank has launched also ARCA Direct Service that allows cardholders get information on their card accounts at the bank's branches.
ArmInfo's Analytical Bulletin "Armenian Banks in the Plastic Card Market" says the total number of Converse Bank's active cards was 36921 on April 1 2010 (8th position), including 22615 Visa International (4th position). Total number of the bank's cards grew 36% versus Jan 1 2009. Converse Bank occupies the 6th position in the b\market in terms of the volume of card transactions (22% up for 2009). The shareholders of Converse Bank are Advanced Global Investments Company managed by Argentinean businessman Eduardo Eurnekian (95%) and the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin Cathedral (5%).
