VTB Bank (Armenia) hands awards to winners of Kangaroo 2010 international contest
Arminfo. VTB Bank (Armenia) has handed awards to the winners of Kangaroo 2010 international mathematics contest that have demonstrated the best results in different regions of Armenia and Yerevan.
For the second year running VTB Bank (Armenia) has been the general sponsor of the Kangaroo math contest and for the second year running it has been awarding air tickets to international summer camps to the contest winners. On behalf of the bank, Director General, Chairman of the VTB Bank (Armenia) Directorate Valery Ovsyannikov gave certificates and trip tickets to the children's summer camp in Bulgaria, where the winners will spend a week (August 7-15). In particular, the trip tickets were given to Edgar Minasyan (Yerevan), and Abraham Grigoryan (village of Vanashen, Ararat region).
"We are very happy to once again support this magnificent event – Kangaroo contest, which is held in many countries of the world, including Armenia. The number of gifted children in Armenia is growing with every passing year, and this demonstrates development of the education sphere",- said Ovsyannikov and expressed confidence that many gifted children will continue their education and contribute to development of Armenia. For his part, Chairman of Board of Trustees of "Ayb" Educational Foundation, priest Mesrop Aramyan thanked the VTB Bank (Armenia) for the support and presented a book about Armenia's ornamental arts to Ovsyannikov.
"It is pleasant that large business has recently been supporting gifted children and realizes that high-quality education is investment in business prospects",- he stressed. VTB Bank (Armenia) also held an excursion for the contest winners in the Moscow branch, during which the winners saw the everyday work of the bank.
To note, for the first time Kangaroo was organized in Paris in 1991, and it received the status of an international contest in 1994. In 2010 alongside with Armenia, children from Russia, Romania, France, Germany, Bulgaria are participating in the contest.
