Inflow of non-commercial transfers to Armenia has grown by 9,6%

In Jan-June 2010 the inflow of individuals' non-commercial money transfers to Armenia amounted to $489.5 mln, with the annual growth being 9,6%, and the outflow - $99.6 mln, with the annual growth being 22,8%. As a result, the net inflow made up $389.9 mln, with the annual growth being 6,6%. In the structure of these transfers the lion's share fell on Russia (79%), the United States (6,3%), Ukraine (1,7%), and Kazakhstan (1,4%). At the same time, the website of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) says that the inflow of individuals' transfers to Armenia via the banking system grew by 3% in Jan-June 2010 as compared with Jan-June 2009, and totaled $616.9 mln, the volume of transfers in June alone made up $137 mln.
In Jan-June 2010 individuals sent $311.7 mln from Armenia via the banking system, this index having increased by 20% as compared with Jan-June 2009. As a result, the net inflow of transfers in Jan-June 2010 amounted to $305.2 mln against $340 mln in Jan-June 2009.
According to the CBA, in the Jan-June 2010 the lion's share of transfers to Armenia fell on Russia - 65,3%, or $402.7 mln, with the annual growth being 11,5%. The following countries rank next: the United States - $62 mln (10% of total) with 20% annual growth, Germany - $10.1 mln (1,6%) with 3,4% annual growth, the UAE - $9.7 mln (1,5%) with 31% annual growth.
In Jan-June 2010 the volume of transfers sent from Armenia to Russia by individuals amounted to $69.3 mln against $51 mln in Jan-June 2009, to the USA - $50 mln against $42 mln in Jan-June 2009, to the UAE - $25.1 mln against $35 mln in Jan-June 2009. It is noteworthy that in the first half-year of 2010 the volume of transfers from Armenia to China grew by 63,3% to $35.6 mln as compared with Jan-June 2009.
As of the end of 2009, the net inflow of individuals' transfers to Armenia amounted to $823.3 mln, the volume of transfers to the republic made up $1.576 bln, and from the republic - $752.4 mln. At present there are 21 commercial banks in Armenia carrying money transfers under the systems UNIStream, Anelik, Contact, MoneyGram, Migom, Leader, Bystraya Pochta, etc.
