Ameriabank raised leasing portfolio 5-fold since 2010
ArmInfo. Ameriabank has increased the leasing portfolio almost 5-fold since the beginning of the year up to August 12 to 1.861 billion drams ($5 million) or ? of the total leasing portfolio of the banking system of Armenia. Ameriabank press-service told ArmInfo the bank's leasing services totaled 187% for the first half of 2010.
For late 2009 Ameriabank's share in total leasing portfolio of the Armenian banking system was 7% versus 10% for Q1 2010 and 18.4% for Q2 2010.
In early 2010 the leasing portfolio of Ameriabank totaled 383 million drams the growth for the Q1 was 44% and for Q2 - 99% to 1.099 billion drams.
Earlier Chairman of Ameriabank Directorate - Director General Artak Hanesyan said in the interview with ArmInfo that the bank plans establishing a leasing company. This requires self-sufficiency of the given dimension. In particular, leasing volumes must be high enough i.e. the bank is to ensure a tenfold growth of the leasing operators as compared to the early 2010.
The above data of Ameriabank are the latest and show that the bank ensured a fivefold growth of the leasing portfolio for not full eight months of the current year, which makes the bank's plans to create a leasing company quite realistic in the near future (ed. ArmInfo).
Ameriabank started providing leasing services in June 2008 and is going to actively involve in the local market of leasing services. The majority shareholder of Ameriabank bank is TDA Holdings LTD representing the shareholders of the leading investment company in Russia - Troika Dialog (99.99%). The company's share did not change after merger of Ameriabank and Cascade Bank in June 2010.
