ArmInfo. Last week (September 20-26) Armenian banks provided loans worth 12.7 bln AMD and $25.8 mln, the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (27 September-1 October) the banks bought $75.6 mln at the average exchange rate of 361,33 AMD/$1, and sold $80.7 mln at the average exchange rate of 362.52 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $23.3 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 361,47 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 28, 29 and 30 September - $6.050 mln, $5.2 mln and $5.150 mln respectively.
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $1.2 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 362,58 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 27 September till 1 October.
To note, as of 1 July 2010, the summary provision of crediting of the Armenian banking system amounted to 838.9 bln AMD or $2.3 bln, having increased over Q2 2010 by 2,3% (against 6,7% growth in Q1 2010 and almost 3% decline in Q2 2009), the annual growth being 29,3%.
