ArmInfo. Last week (4-10 October) Armenian banks provided loans worth 14.8 bln AMD and $42.8 mln, the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (11-15 October) the banks bought $80 mln at the average exchange rate of 360,6 AMD/$1, and sold $80.2 mln at the average exchange rate of 362.04 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $15.6 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 360,61 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 12 and 15 October ($4.2 mln and $6.8 mln respectively).
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $450 thsd were carried out at the average exchange rate of 361,06 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 11 till 15 October.
To note, as of 1 July 2010, the summary provision of crediting of the Armenian banking system amounted to 838.9 bln AMD or $2.3 bln, having increased by 2,3% over Q2 (against 6,7% Q1 2010 almost 3% decline over Q2 2009), the annual growth being 29,3%.
