Armeconombank introduces ArCa system "insurance" cards in the market
Arminfo. Armeconombank, the agent of the insurance company "Sil Insurance" has recently started providing ArCa system's "insurance" plastic cards. The cards with a credit line equal to the insurance premiums will be provided to all the customers, which have insured their cars according to the Motor Third Party Liability Insurance (MTPL) at any of the 36 branches of the bank. Head of the Plastic Card Operations Department of Armeconombank Vardan Yeghiazaryan told ArmInfo correspondent that the owners of this co-branding card will have a discount in the motor service points, which have a relevant agreement with the insurance company.
At the same time, he pointed out that Armeconombank will start issuing Visa cards in April- May 2011 to maintain and consolidate its positions. All the agreements have already been reached with the Visa system leadership. He assured that the year 2011 will become the most successful period for both the bank and the customers in the matter of the card service spectrum increase.
Speaking of possible creation of its own processing center, he said that the bank is preparing for it both from the technical point of view and by means of acquiring new skills to "ensure its operation at any proper moment".
To note, as of 1 October 2010 the number of the bank's active cards totaled 103066, of them 76603 local ArCa cards and 26463 MasterCards. Since the beginning of the year, the total number of the bank's active cards grew by 27,3% thanks to expansion of salary projects, under which the bank has over 700 corporate clients against 634 as of the beginning of 2010. Over Jan-Sep 2010 the bank increased the number of its bancomats by 8, and POS- terminals - by 25 to 61 and 245 respectively.
To recall, today Armeconombank is in the lead in the Armenian banking system by the number of its active plastic cards. As of 1 Sep 2010, the number of cards issued by the member banks of ArCa processing center exceeded 527 thsd, with the number of bancomats and trade and servicing points in the system being 636 and over 2550 respectively.
