Doubtful loans in loan portfolio of Armenian commercial banks down 17.2% amid insignificant growth of non-standard and supervised loans
ArmInfo. Doubtful loans in the loan portfolio of Armenian commercial banks were down 17.2% amid insignificant growth of non-standard and supervised loans. Standard loans grew 7.1% to 96% in the loan portfolio, the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo. As of October 1 2010 standard loan amounted to 930.7 billion drams, supervised loans - 19.3 billion drams, non-standard loans - 14.2 billion drams and doubtful one - 5.3 billion drams. The share of supervised loans fell from 2.1% to 2% for Q3 2010 and the share of doubtful loan fell from 0.7% to 0.5% whereas the share of non-standard loans was left unchanged (1.5% ) and standard ones grew from 95.7% to 96%.
Loans and receivables classified into risk-groups grew 6.7% for Q3 2010 to 969.5 billion drams ($2.7 billion) as of October 1 as standard loans grew 7.1%, supervised loans - 3.7% and non-standard ones - 1.4%. Doubtful loans fell 17.2%. As of Oct 1 2010 the banking sector of Armenian encompassed 21 banks and 400 branches (versus 393 branches as of July 1).
