Leasing portfolio of Ameriabank reaches 2 bln drams
ArmInfo. The leasing portfolio of Ameriabank has reached 2 bln drams, Ameriabank's director for development Tigran Jrbashyan told ArmInfo correspondent.
He also added the leasing services market is rather big and has good prospects for development. "At present corrections in the acting legislation, connected with taxation of the leasing activity are being drawn out", - Jrbashyan said.
He think that removal of the present legislative obstacles will lead to activation of the leasing services market, especially that the long-term credits given by Armenian banks are mainly used for innovation of the fixed assets. "The process of innovation of the fixed assets has started in Armenian 2-3 years ago. It became active also thanks to the decision of the government to delay VAT payment for the imported equipment for three years", - he said.
When commenting on absence of the secondary market for leasing services, Jrbashyan explained that the secondary market cannot and should not develop in such small countries like Armenia. "By its volumes the Armenian market may hardly be interesting like a secondary leasing market, it is very much possible that leasing in the country will develop thanks to innovation of the fixed assets", - he said.
To note, at present the acting legislation bans economic entities using of ways of accelerated amortization spread in international practice.
