Number of ArCa plastic cards in October 2010 grew by 27,6% to 545680 pieces
ArmInfo. The number of plastic cards issued by ArCa member-banks grew by 27,6% in October 2010, as compared to October 2009, and reached 545.7 thsd pieces by November 1, 2010. As Armenian Card told ArmInfo, 55% or 300.5 thsd pieces of the total number of cards fell on ArCa local cards as of November 1, 2010 (12,5% annual growth), Visa cards - 27,4% or 149.7 thsd pieces (41% annual growth), and MasterCard - 17,5% or 95.5 thsd pieces (75,7% growth). The bank issued 19534 cards over October 2010, that exceeds the indicator of the similar month 2009 by 4,9%.
According to the source, operations by 371.2 thsd cards or 68% of the total number of active cards were carried out over October on the average (38,3% annual growth).
According to the data of Armenian Card, the number of active trade/service points and cash delivery points (less regard to ATMs) in the Armenian Card system as of November 1 made up 2718 (30,2% annual growth), 325 of which are cash delivery points (9,1% annual growth). 3161 POS-terminals have been actuated in trade / service points (33,5% annual growth), 416 of which - in cash delivery points (9,2% growth). Along with it, out of the total number of POS- terminals, ArCa cards were served by 3007 POS-terminals, Visa - by 1865 and MasterCard - by 2701. There were 661 ATMs in Armenia as of November 1, 2010, and their number as compared to the similar period of 2009 increased by 20,8%.
To recall, 66% shares of the Armenian Card belongs to Central Bank, the rest - by 2% to each of 17 commercial banks - ArcA members.
