Armenian National Congress: MTPLI (OSAGO) is a new option of robbery and corruption for oligarchs
ArmInfo. "Motor Third Party Liability Insurance" [MTPLI] (OSAGO) does not meet citizens' interests and has a purpose to create new machinery of robbery and corruption for oligarchs, press-release of the opposition Armenian National Congress says.
The OSAGO tariffs and fines for its absence are high, whereas the size of the insurance payments (compensation for damage) is very low. This will negatively affect welfare of the majority of citizens of the country on the threshold of New Year holiday. "As it was expected, application of the non-market ways of price formation within the frames of OSAGO will reduce much the competition in this segment. The law adopted in a hurry, does not have the preparatory basis, the availability of which would make it possible to hope for successful introduction of the OSAGO institution. The terms fixed for OSAGO introduction are not enough. This may lead to chaos in the market and catch drivers off their guard", - press-release says.
Armenian National Congress says that introduction of the law on OSAGO should be prolonged until the insurance introduction in more important branches of social sphere. OSAGO should first of all meet citizens' interests but should not be based on application of obligatory measures.
