Gross foreign debt of Armenia grew by 8% at the third quarter 2010 and amounted to $5.8 mln
ArmInfo. Gross foreign debt of Armenia grew by 8% or $431.35 mln in the 3Q 2010 and amounted to $5858.78 mln as of 1 October. Gross foreign assets amounted to $2559.47 mln, increasing by 5% or $121.6 mln if compared with the same period of 2009. As a result, pure foreign debt increased by 10,4% or $309,76 mln over the reported quarter and amounted to $3299.31 mln.
According to the data of Armenian Finance Ministry, the share of state management system was 45,85% ($2686.44 mln) in the gross foreign debt; private sector - 17,07% ($999.99 mln), money and credit settlement bodies - 11,81% ($691.57 mln), commerce banks - 17,31% ($1014.28 mln), $486.50 of which - long-term credits and $423.02 mln - cash and deposits; direct foreign investments - 7,96% ($466.49 mln), which were received by the companies of various branches of economy in the form of the inter-firm credits. As for the commerce banks, the debt on the short-term credits grew by 42,1% up to $63.6 mln, and long-term - by 10,2% up to $486.5 mln over the 3Q 2010.
According to the final data of Armenian Finance and Economic Development Ministry, given to Arminfo by National Statistics Service, as of 31 December 2010 the gross foreign debt amounted to $5022.94 mln, gross foreign assets - $2534.90 mln, as a result of which pure foreign debt was fixed on the level $2488.04 mln. As of 30 September 2010, gross foreign debt amounted to $4696.48, gross foreign assets - $2517.23 mln, as a result of which pure foreign debt was fixed at the level - $2179.25 mln.
