Pensioners to receive pensions by Unibank cards started March 2011
ArmInfo. Unibank and Ministry of Labour and Social Issues of Armenia have signed an agreement on cashless payment of pensions. As Unibank's press service told ArmInfo, pensioners will be able to receive pension by the bank's plastic cards started March 2011.
According to the source, pensions may be received in any ATM which services ArCa local cards. The bank will carry out delivery of pension cards and service of pensioners free of charge.
To note, the Cyprian "Ripatonso Holdings Limited" (75,43% share), Gagik Zakaryan (12,285%) and Georgy Piskov (12,285%) are shareholders of Unibank. Upon the results of 2010, the number of cards issued by Unibank made up 66,000 pieces with 66% annual growth. As of January 12, 2011, the bank had 658 POS-terminals and 74 ATMs. Unibank operates by ArCa local cards and Visa international cards, with great emphasis on the latter (over 80% of the total number of the bank's active cards). According to the data of Armenian Card, 659 ATMs, servicing ArCa cards have been actuated in Armenia as of December 1, 2010.
To recall, Ardshininvestbank, VTB Bank (Armenia), Armbusinessbank, Prometey Bank, Areximbank-GPB Group, ARARATBANK, Converse Bank and Mellat Bank take part in the governmental project on cashless payment of pensions, along with Unibank.
