On snowfall day ROSGOSSTRAKH ARMENIA insurance company registered record-breaking number of road accidents
ArmInfo. As a result of the first heavy snowfall this winter, the ROSGOSSTRAKH ARMENIA insurance company registered a record-breaking number of road accidents, the company's press service told ArmInfo.
According to the preliminary data of the Loss Adjustment Center of the company, the insurance payments for the insurable events registered on Feb 1 may amount to AMD 20 mln.
The company said that on Feb 1 its round-the-clock Contact Center received 360 calls, 115 of them were officially registered as road accidents. To maintain the high quality of customer service, additional reserves were launched, and this allowed maintaining the efficiency in taking measures for liquidation of consequences of road traffic accidents. In particular, the time of loss adjuster's arrival at the place of the road accidents was maintained at 20-25 minutes.
"Several serious road accidents caused emergency situations on the roads, the expectation of the loss adjuster could cause further complications, therefore, our employees offered their customers to photograph the place of the road accident themselves, fill in the declaration and come to the company to file a written statement", the company said.
On Feb 1 no personal harm (to health and/or life) was registered in the company. In general, insignificant accidents occurred on the day of the heavy snowfall, which were regulated according to the declaration. "The most serious insurable event occurred in Avan, where a total of 15 card hit one another, 5 of them were insured in ROSGOSSTRAKH ARMENIA", the company said.
During the night the company registered 5 road accidents, this index being by 1 accident more than in January.
Throughout January 2011 the round-the-clock Contact Center of ROSGOSSTRAKH ARMENIA received 2846 calls, 796 of them were registered as road accidents in the written form.
To recall, Armenian insurers started selling MTPL policies starting 18 Oct 2010 and have already concluded 260-270 thsd MTPL contracts. The Law on MTPL came into force on 1 Jan 2011. According to the tariff plan worked out by the Motor Insurers Bureau and approved the Central Bank of Armenia, the minimum amount of the insurance premium is 18634 AMD, and the maximum one is 110313 AMD. The fine for the lack of MTPL policies is AMD 50 thsd.
