In 2011 Areximbank-Gazprombank Group CJSC intends to increase number of plastic cards by 10 thsd cards


ArmInfo. The Council of ArCa payment system took a decision to provide Areximbank- Gazprombank Group CJSC with a license for issuing ArCa local cards. Jointly with Armenian Card, the bank intends to shortly start solving the technical problems in order to start issuing the cards, the oress service of the bank told ArmInfo.

In 2011 Areximbank-Gazprombank Group will take an active part in provision of pensions to pensioners by means of plastic cards, including ArCa cards. In this connection, Areximbank-Gazprombank Group experts say that the number of cards issued by the bank will grow by at lest 8-10 thsd cards.

To recall, in 2010 the number of cards issued by Areximbank-Gazprombank Group increased by 30.6 % to 75315, and the volume of operations with the cards grew by 45.75%.

Areximbank-GPB Group is a principal member of the international payment systems Visa and MasterCard, as well as member of the local ArCa payment system. Areximbank-GPB Group was the first bank in Armenia to introduce on-line service of plastic card reservation. As of January 1 2011 the bank served 44 bacomats and 128 POS-The sole shareholder of the bank is Gazprombank OJSC (Russia).
