ArmInfo-Vedomosti. The Russian Sberbank has announced the purchase of the investment company Troika Dialog. One of the oldest investment banks has been sold for a bit more than its capital – for 1 bln USD, but in three years the transaction amount may grow by 700 mln USD depending on the profit of Troika.
On Friday President of Sberbank German Gref told the employees of Troika Dialog about the purchase of the company. Half an hour later he, the main owner of Troika Dialog Rpouben Vardanyan and Head of Standard Bank Group Jacko Maree (who owns 36.4% of Troika's shares) met with journalists at the office of Sberbank.
"Today we are finally going to announce the transaction on purchase of Troika Dialog", said Gref. Sberbank is purchasing 100% of the company's shares.
The transaction will have two stages: initially the bank will pay 1 bln USD (1.15 part of the capital). The amount of the second payment will be determined in three years.
To note, the main owner of Troika Dialog Rouben Vardanyan owns certain assets in Armenia. It is one of the largest banks of the country – Ameriabank, and the advisory company Ameria. Vardanyan made significant investments in tourism industry, having financed the construction of the longest reversive cableway to the medieval monastery of Tatev. The family of Vardanyans also owns Mexican cuisine restaurant Cactus in Yerevan.
