Non-commercial personal remittances to Armenia up 28.8% per annum


ArmInfo. Non-commercial personal remittances to Armenia were up 28.8% per annum to $67 million and remittances from Armenia grew 10.6% to $12.4 mln. In fact, net inflow totaled 454.6 mln with a 35.1% annual growth. Russia's share in total personal remittances was the biggest - 78.4%. Then go USA (7.2%), Ukraine (1.8%) and Kazakhstan (1.5%).
The monthly report of the Armenian Central Bank says that inflow of personal remittances via the banking system of Armenia for 2010 totaled $1.3 bln, outflow - $221.8 mln. In fact, net inflow of non-commercial remittances for Jan-Dec 2010 amounted to 41.1 bln.

By data of the Central Bank, remittances from Russia for Jan 2011 totaled $52.5 mln with a 33.6% annual growth (remittances to Russia totaled $5.8 mln). Personal remittances from the USA totaled $4.8 mln with annual growth of 37.1% (outflow - 41.4 mln). Remittances from Ukraine totaled $1,2 mln (up 50%) and to Ukraine - $0.8 mln. Remittances from Kazakhstan totaled $1 mln (almost 2fold growth) and to Kazakhstan totaled $0.06 mln.

The Armenian banking sector encompasses 21 commercial banks. Money remittances to Armenia were made via 17 international payment systems: UniStream, Anelik, Contact, Migom, Bistraya Pochta, Leader, Interexpess, Blizko, Private Money and other. Anelik is the own system of Anelik Bank whereas UNIstream operates in Armenia via its exclusive partner Unibank.
