RESO insurance company prepares to introduce RESOMED individual policies of medical insurance
ArmInfo. RESO insurance company is preparing to introduce individual policies of medical insurance in the market, Executive Director of RESO Samvel Grigoryan told ArmInfo correspondent. He said that the new product will be called RESOMED and will supposedly be launched in early May.
The head of the medical insurance project of the company, Babken Shahumyan said that besides the compulsory medical services, the individual policies of voluntary medical insurance also include so-called bonus services, particularly, expensive cardiology examination. "The value of the cardiology examination alone makes up about 60% of the insurance policy price", said the specialist.
The price of the policy itself ranges from 60 thsd AMD to 120 thsd AMD (depending on the age and sex of the insuree). The main task of successful introduction of the product is to carry out high-quality analysis and selection of the risks to be insured by the company.
According to the company's experts, Armenian citizens - the potential insurees of the company – will be able to undergo free medical examination, including cardiology examination. "Cardiology examination will remain a free service, even for the citizens, whose medical examination reveals serious heart diseases and who will be denied insurance in the future", said Shahumyan.
Health citizens will receive a so-called passport "Healthy heart" from the company. Under the medical insurance agreement, these customers will be able to undergo regular cardiology examinations and prevent any heart diseases. "Unfortunately, the citizens of Armenia lack the habit to undergo regular medical examinations. As a rule, the visits to cardiologists are delayed. Meanwhile, the early diagnostics of cardiovascular diseases is the most effective method to prevent serious heart diseases. Having a medical insurance policy, our customer receives an opportunity to consult a doctor in case of any heart problems and receive treatment from the company if necessary", he said. Shahumyan recalled that even for healthy people it is very important to undergo regular medical examinations, because the risk of development of cardiovascular diseases among the Armenian nation is very high.
RESO Executive Director Samvel Grigoryan stressed that medical insurance allows the citizens to receive material compensation for so-called disastrous expenses. He said that 100 mln people worldwide annually find themselves below the poverty line due to such disastrous expenses.
"For our citizens medical insurance is even a more important component, because our population literally deals with the daily food problem, and the disastrous expenses may make them come across serious difficulties and big debts. By the way, the citizens have solved part of these expenses due to introduction of the motor third party liability insurance", said Grigoryan.
By late 2011 the company is going to sign at least 3,000 contracts on individual medical insurance via its network of insurance consultants. Grigoryan added that the new product is not only a rare and very good opportunity for the citizens to insure their health at affordable, moreover, "unprecedented for the market" tariffs, but also an opportunity to mark the beginning of development of the individual medical insurance market in the country. "In Armenia only 33,000 citizens have medical insurance policies, 99% of them have insured their health under corporate agreements", he said.
