Ameriabank recognized winner of international online contest "Banking management 2011"


ArmInfo. Ameriabank has been recognized winner in the European stage of international online contest "Banking Management 2011", Director for Development of Ameriabank Tigran Jrbashyan said at a press conference on Tuesday.

The main topic of the contest is management of assets and liabilities under conditions of market competition. Jrbashyan said that the winner was selected on the basis of assessment of shareholder value, level of risk management, level of the strategy implementation, and the main financial indices. He pointed out that such world famous organizations as ING, Dexia (winner of the previous contest), CSOB took part in the contest.

Jrbashyan added that the contest was held in Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Africa. The organizers of the contest were SimArk NV jointly with the New York Institute of Finance, World Savings Banks Institute, and European Savings Banks Group. The contest was held online via the FirstB@nk system. The winner of each regional contest receives a right to participate in the international finals to take place in New York in August 2011. He added that Ameriabank will be represented by 4 employees.

According to the Ranking of Commercial Banks of Armenia by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), as of 1 April 2011 Ameriabank occupied the leading positions by main parameters: 1st position by authorized capital, 2nd position by total capital, assets and credit portfolio, 1st position by lending to economy, 3rd position by investment in government securities, 2nd position by time deposits.

To recall, the majority shareholder of Ameriabank is TDA Holdings Limited affiliated with Troyka Dialog with 99.99% share participation.
