VTB Bank (Armenia) announces action for "VTB-Childhood" deposit
ArmInfo.  VTB Bank (Armenia) has announced an action for "VTB-Childhood" deposit on occasion of the International Day for the Protection of Children, the bank's press-service told ArmInfo. The children of "VTB-Childhood" the depositors will receive intellectual gifts from the bank. The action is announced for the period from June 1 to 30.  
"VTB-Childhood" deposits will be opened for better terms. Thus, a deposit term is 1-15 years (instead of the previous 5 years), the annual interest in terms of the national dram is 10.5% (instead of the previous 9%), and in terms of the USD and EUR is 6.25% and 4.8%, respectively. The minimal size of the deposit is 30,000 drams or 100 USD/EUR.
Chairman of VTB Bank (Armenia) Board, Director General Valery Ovsyannikov said that due to the VTB-Childhood deposit, the bank's customers can accumulate funds for their children within 15 years and then use them to pay for their education. "They can deposit any amounts and at any time suitable for them," he said. 
"We know that savings for the future of our children is one of the prior tasks of every family," he said.  Ranking of Armenian Commercial Banks for March 31 2011 prepared by the Agency for Rating Marketing Information says VTB Bank (Armenia) was among top three of leaders in terms of personal deposits (call and time) - 37.8 bln drams or 35.5% of total liabilities. Personal deposits with the bank grew 51% per annum and 6.5% for Q1 - 6.5%. Over 78%  of the total were personal time deposits (up 51% per annum). 
VTB Bank (Armenia) joined VTB Financial Group in April 2004 and serves the largest branch network in Armenia - 68. The second biggest bank in Russia, VTB OJSC owes 100pct stake in VTB Bank (Armenia).
