Unibank launches a UNI-accumulative deposit
ArmInfo. Unibank has launched a new deposit for individuals - UNI-accumulative. The press- service of the bank told ArmInfo that the given deposit is accepted until 31 Dec 2011.
According to the source, UNI-accumulative deposit can be opened in AMD, USD or EUR for a period of 365 days. The minimum amount of the deposit is fixed at 100 thsd AMD or 300 USD or 300 EUR, and the maximum amount of replenishment is 10 mln AMD/100 thsd USD or EUR. The interest rate for AMD desposits is 100% p.a., for USD deposits – 6%, and for EUR deposits - 5%.
The interest is allocated monthly or at the end of the deposit period, but the bank can capitalize the interest (add the interest to the deposit amount) at the depositor's will. All the depositors who have placed funds on the UNI-accumulative deposit are awarded a UNIPAY communal payment card containing all the information needed for the payment.
Head of Retail Deposits Department of Unibank Diana Jeyranyan said that the key advantage of the deposit is the opportunity to plan one's own savings and control the scheme of contributions. "UNI-accumulative is especially convenient for the people wishing to receive not only additional income, but also to accumulate funds for a certain occasion, for instance, for vacation or a holiday," she said.
Unibank is in the lead in the Armenian banking system by the volume of its time deposits of individuals. According to the bank, by 30 May 2011 the time deposits of individuals amounted to 47.4 bln AMD (18% annual growth). The bank's time deposits annually increased by 24% to 84.8 bln AMD.
The dynamic growth of indices and the constant inflow of depositors means that the confidence in Unibank remains high. The wide range of deposit products of Unibank provides an opportunity to choose a reliable method of keeping and multiplying money funds. By placing money at Unibank, the customers, regardless of the deposit terms, can make use of multi-currency regime, capitalize interest or receive a right to participate in the drawing of valuable prizes.
To note, Unibank has been operating in the Armenian banking system since October 2001. The shareholders of the bank are "Ripatonso Holdings Limited " (Cyprus, 75.43%), Gagik Zakaryan (12.285%) and Georgy Piskov (12.285%). By 1 April 2011, the share of time deposits in the structure of Unibank's liabilities exceeded 72% and by this indicator the bank is in the lead in the country's banking system. The share of individuals in the structure of time deposits made up 67%.
