Over June 2011 economic activity of Armenia grew by 9.6%
ArmInfo. Over June 2011 the economic activity of Armenia grew by 9.6% versus May, and by 2.3% versus June 2010. The economic activity growth in June was mostly due to the 40.8% growth in the sphere of agriculture.
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Service of Armenia, in absolute terms the gross output of agriculture in June made up 66.3 bln AMD ($177.1 mln, with 10.1% annual decline).
Statistics says that the biggest annual growth (June 2011 versus June 2010) was fixed in the sphere of industrial production - by 24.7% to 87.2 bln AMD ($232.7 mln, 5.8% growth in June alone). The price index of industrial products grew by 0.1% in June 2011, and by 11.4% versus June 2010. The annual growth in electricity output made up 16.4% to 637.4 mln KW/h (2.3% decline in June alone).
In June 2011 trade increased by 6.5% to 163.3 bln AMD ($436 mln) as compared with May (6% annual growth). The services provided to the population annually increased by 4.1%, and by 7% in June alone, having totaled 73.1 bln AMD ($165.1 mln). The index of consumer prices in June versus May totaled 98.6%, and versus June 2010 - 108.5%.
In the meanwhile, Armenia's foreign trade turnover declined by 7% in June, and annually grew by 10.4% to 165.4 bln AMD ($441 mln). In its structure export grew by 1.1% in June and annually grew by 32.5%. Import declined by 9.5%, and annually increased by 4.3%.
In June 2011 the average AMD/USD exchange rate made up 374.65 AMD/1 USD.
